I have a 1994 Ford ranger splash super cab 4x4, I was driving up a snowy hill and started sliding so I pulled over to lock my hubs and when I got in and pressed the 4x4 button the truck didn't do anything, I tested the control module and it was fine, however the dash light nor the light beside the button itself will not light up, common sence tells me that my button is probably bad but I refuse to pay 312.00$ for a new switch is there any other possibilities iv checked fuses and realays, help please on a bypass method or otherwise ways to save a ranger owner a few hundred$$$$??

 

Maybe it's the hubs themselves.
It could also be the transfer case motor.
