cummins diesel vs. 4.0 fx4
I wish I could say "I can get a vid" but I cant. This was in 05 when my friends truck was stock and mine was stock. Now I have 33s, and he has a chip, turbo, exhaulst, Water inj, pistons, head work, ect ect ect. He wastes me now.

A "STOCK" Diesel is NOT fast
Exhaulst and Chip a Diesel comes alive. But it still isn't fast. I raced a 03 cummins with chip and exhaulst and we where side x side till about 60MPH. Now if he did a 4wd start with boost he would leap ahead pretty fast.

Give me one stock diesel that is not quick off the line? Seems to me they're all pretty decent off the line, at least all the stock diesel's I've had the chance to drive.

Detroit is the manufacturer of the D-max. So, in essence, there are only 3 producers of light duty diesel's, Cummins, Navistar, and the Duramax.

Isuzu is the manufacturer of the Duramax and a stock 06+ D-max will run 14.6 quarter mile times...One with a tuner will burn off 13.9's...Thats hauling.

I have seen the D-Max run a 14.6 at altitude, however they can't tow worth a damn. Buddy of mine has an 06 D-Max, regrets getting it, but isn't about to trade it just yet. Traded a straight piped '00 Z71 Tahoe on it.

"8.577@78.53mph 1/8 and 13.650@95.03mph 1/4. Truck picked up more than a second and a half over stock"
So with that saying a stocker goes above 15.1
i just raced a 2000 reg cab long bed cummins on the way home tonight, he didnt have a chance. i pulled on him 3 times.
i am with josh, stock diesels are slow
i have 35s for crying out loud and i beat a stock cummins.
