sure will. just gota be down for alot of work.

any engine will fit in any vehicle. just need to do the work to fit it. Its a really wide motor, you will be removing and moddifying parts of the front end to fit it. If you have the time and money for it I say go for it.

oops

forgot to answer the first question.. no, it won't be "easy" if you want "easy" get a 5.0 from an explorer, thats the easiest v8 swap you can do.

Been done everal times, but not easy. Depends on your skills, patience, and time. Check out rangerpowersports for a few threads on the swap.

302 from explorer is easy. I did mine back in 2002 in 3 weekends and I was taking my time to be particular. Heard of one mechanic that did it in 10 hours at his dealership.

A Chevy 5.3 or 6.0 will fit in really good and give you more power.

We're talkin' gasser...never heard of a 6.0L oil burner(other than a stroker, but hey, were talkin' Chev powerplants remember!).

My '71 chevy stepside...it's beggin' for a LS series 6.0 with twin hairdryers.

I want to someday. I want to build an LS based engine to about 550 HP (very optainable and still very reliable) then get a 98+ 2wd ranger frame and put the motor in with a six speed T-56, then use the body of an '88 ext cab ranger. I think that would be the best of all worlds, a decent suspension, best looking ranger IMO, Manual tranny, and the best american V8 ever produced. I hate ford v8 mod motors. Always have.

I'd rather have a Chevy engine. Something about Ford V8 engines needing a special too to get the spark plugs out when they break scares me. If I got a Fox body down the road I'd run a Chevy engine.

Why would I put a Chevy engine in a Ford? Because I want it to go fast. HAHA
