Adding aftermarket speakers to the front of a 2010 Ranger
Hello , I have a 2010 ford ranger ext cab and I want to install two front speakers in the front of the cab somewhere - but NOT in the doors. I want to leave the doors alone. I saw some kick panel enclosures at Crutchfield, but the fuse box is on the passenger side by the floor. Ceiling, floor, under dash ? Anyone tackled this before ? Appreciated

Welcome to the forum
Aren't there speakers in the doors now?
The fuse panel is actually the SJB(smart junction box) the body computer so not much chance on moving it
What are to trying to do sound wise?
You could add better Tweeters which are only a few inches wide, and disable the tweeters and crossover in the door speakers, or wire the crossover to the added tweeters, the 6" mid-range part works OK

I have added a Kenwood X998. I want to keep the factory head and speakers intact. I am using the rear channel right now from the 998. I want to put front speakers in somewhere for the X998. And not bother the door speakers.
I bet nobody has an answer for this scenario

The Kenwood X998 is a head unit so not quite understanding, "I want to keep the factory head and speakers intact."
Are you using the factory rear speakers with the Kenwood?
Or did you use separate added speakers?
And you don't want to use the door speakers?
Or you want to add 2 more speakers and use with the door speakers, and that would be a problem to stay in the 6-8ohm area
If you want to just run the Kenwood with 4 other speakers then say that, thats what I am getting from "I want to keep the factory head and speakers intact."
So you are mounting the Kenwood unit, ??somewhere??, and running 4 sets of speaker wires from it to added speakers
Google: how to make a pillar speaker pods
The rear channel speakers can supply bass and mid-range so you really only need tweeters up front
The mid and lower frequencies travel well, thats why you can hear sub-woofers beat from far away
Higher frequencies are lost at shorter distance so having tweeters up front in a vehicle is best practice
You may be able to mount speakers in the console, opposite door speakers
Or install an overhead console

Stock still works. Adding another separate system - yes. Antenna splitter already here. Hmmmm, pillar mount, did not think of that one. I would bet again nobody makes such a thing for the Ranger, maybe so. Anyone seen a vendor selling these ?
This guy did it: https://www.ranger-forums.com/audio-...-build-124194/
Although I would just use one smaller tweeter on each side, as said the larger rear speakers do the bass and mid-ranges
Or an overhead unit, Rhino used to make these: https://i.pinimg.com/originals/17/db...fcacef3b43.jpg
