clock/radio display doesn't light
I have a '99 ranger with a stock radio/CD player, the display just quit working. The radio/CD works fine, I just have no display. Anyone know of a fix for this? I did a search and found that with some ford radios there's some solder joints on a board that get hot and can sometimes be resoldered, but when I looked at mine, it doesn't resemble what they've described. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

First I would suggest checking the fuse for "memory/clock" functions...
Truly the simplest way to resolve the radio problem is to visit your local salvage yard and pick up another radio... Simple...Cheap...Fast...
I have a "pull-a-part" yard near by and ANY radio is $24.95 (you pull it)...
Just got a Kenwood receiver from a Ranger with a DIN mounting and adaptor cable for under $40 .
and now have a super sound system with USB and Aux inputs
Sometimes a "failure" can bring about improvements...

Have a read here: https://www.ranger-forums.com/audio-...y-radio-68811/
You can check wrecking yards for replacement radios as well
And as endangered said, 3rd party radio will get you newer options for music sources
Nice double DIN install here: http://www.therangerstation.com/tech..._install.shtml

Thanks to both of you. I had previously read the thread about repairing the power supply, but I don't have, or can't locate, a board in my unit that looks like the ones I've seen posted online. Guess I'll be looking around the local salvage yards. I was hoping to be able to fix this myself, but it doesn't look good at this point. Thanks again.
