mount speakers on deadener?

I'm getting ready to replace my front speakers. They came with foam similar to this install. I am wondering about the order of material overlap in this process. Is it better to have the speaker mounted directly to metal, or would a layer of deadener between the speaker and metal help? The foam would still be included.

So, for us visual learners

Option 1:

metal - foam - speaker

Option 2:

metal - deadener - foam - speaker

...or I suppose I can leave out the foam for ~
Option 3:

metal - deadener - speaker

Thanks for your input!
