Sound Ordnance subs ????

Has anyone ever used or heard of Sound Ordnance audio equipment?

I am in the market for a sub and they have a killer deal on crutchfield.com

Sound Ordnance™ B-17 Bandpass enclosure with 12" subwoofer at Crutchfield.com

just by looking at them they dont look great. but mainly thats just beacause im no fan of prefab boxes. buy a sub then build a box for it tuned to how You like it to sound. you wont be dissapointed

I can't say how that specific sub is... i can just tell you you will get a lot of output from that sub. Its a bandpass box. it will tend to focus the sound output on only a small range of frequencies.
If you are a little bit more worried about sound quality, you should probably go with a vented type sub or sealed.
Sealed subs will tend to give you a flatter response, which is considered to be the best sound quality. but dramatically reduces output level
really it depends on what your looking for most...

Crutchfield in general does not usually sell crappy equipment. Sound Ordnance may even be a "House Brand". Which would be awesome if Crutchfield was making amps again.

In your overall opinion for $99 is that a pretty good deal?

I think it's a great deal, but I'm no expert. I really like the design of the enclosure. I might end up getting one myself. Although before I do I will call Crutchfield to get more details on the brand.

A sub/box combo is for under $100 shipped is a pretty good deal. especially for being Crutchfield.

I just looked at their enclosed subs and they also have a nice rockford fosgate ported sub for $99 id rather have that if it fits.

I have a 1000w 4 channel that will be pushing it. I am really contemplating getting it.

do you know what your rms ratings are.. for that amp when its bridged? and what kind. Im not sure if your amp will be able to bridge all 4 chans to one.. you will only be able to bridge two of the channels together..

I am only going to bridge 2 channels to the amp. So 500w/rms bridged.

Its an MA audio 1000w performance series.

Its this sub...http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...io+M500XE.html

The specs are down the page.

i think youll be better off with the rockford 10" Rockford Fosgate P1L-110 Punch Stage 1 10" ported enclosed subwoofer at Crutchfield.com it will hit lower and you will have plenty of power for it also.

with the S.O. you will be right at the recommended power, with the rockford you will have more "headroom" in your amp. so you can keep the gains down. It should in theory sound better that way..

but if you do go with the SO im sure you'll be happy with it. you'll be bumpin' either way
