2000 B4000
Hi I’m new to this forum and not sure if the Mazda questions are allowed or not, but here I go anyway...
i have a 2000 Mazda b4000. I am trying to replace my old auto locking hubs with manual locking hubs. I am having a very hard time determining which one I need to purchase. The Ridge runner 15001.70 looks like it should fit as well as the Mile Marker 426 but websites are telling me no. I know there is something about half way through the year they maybe changed some things(live axle?)... My build date is 9/99. Can anyone tell me what manual hub I need to purchase? Thank you

Welcome to the forum
We like the Mazda B-series as well
1994 to 2009 Mazda B-series are rebadged Rangers made at Ford plants, so are identical to Rangers of the same model year
1998 to 2000 Rangers and Mazda B-series got Pulse Vacuum Hubs(PVH) for front axle on 4x4s, Ford immediately found out these were a bad idea, so they switched to "live axle", always locked front axles.
Officially all Rangers and Mazda B-series came with Live axle in 2001 model year and up
Unofficially Rangers and Mazdas started getting live axles in 1999 model year, but not 100% of them
So in 2000 you could have either, easy way to tell is if you have a hub or a nut on the front axle
A company called AVM makes manual hubs that can replace the PVH hubs, their part number is 470, AVM470
A company in the US ordered a batch of these, made by AVM but rebranded as Rugged Ridge
Not sure on Mile Marker, read about these but can't say who makes them, the AVM hubs have a good track record
Picture of the hub and how-to here on the conversion seen here: https://therangerstation.com/tech_li...hub_swap.shtml
The hubs you get must look like these
