Welcome to the forum
It should be plug and play, but only way to be sure would be to get a 2002 and a 2006 Ford Ranger "Wiring Diagrams" book, Ford sends these out with Shop Manual sets for each model each year
2006 seen here: https://www.ebay.com/itm/2006-Ford-R...-/373021218829
2002 seen here: https://www.ebay.ca/itm/2002-Ford-Ra...QAAOSw0w9dyQt5
These are basically Free because you can re-sell them, like these people are doing, when you are done with them
Also both 3.0ls would need to have matching VIN engine codes, both "U" or both "V", i.e. gas only or Flex Fuel, wiring "might" be different, BUT, Fuel Injectors WOULD be different
Engine code is the 8th digit in the VIN
Injectors need to match 2006 Computer, but you can swap injectors if that's the only stumbling block, that's the only difference in flex fuel or gas only engines, computer and injectors
