first how about some info on the truck then just saying i have a 3.0L...thanks.
now why in heck would you want to down grade to a 2.3L turbo now granted its a turbo but no. if you want fast and good power reliable and not bad gas millage go with a 302 mustang motor its quite simple to swap into the trucks and fits great. or if its a beleave 2002 and newer 3.0L you could put on the whipple supercharger and have Doug made you a tuner for the computer and you will be screwing fast for a ranger

Why would anyone want to do this swap? Simple..
Turbo'ed 2.3's have pushed beyond 300ponies and have a good torque curve. Theres MANY aftermarket parts for a 2.3T from an SVO. The 3.0 Duratec has a whipple that can push what powerlevels? With no aftermarket bottom end parts to strengthen it?
If he's looking for more Umph, it looks like a good plan if he has the cash and time.

"Ford 2.3 turbo engine makes up for in good ole "over engineering"! Completely stock short block 2.3 engines have been known to be able to withstand power outputs approaching 400HP! Ford 2.3 turbo powered drag cars can run 10's in the 1/4 mile and put V8 cars to shame! "
Whole webring dedicated to this engine combo -- >

Picture meeting up with a 2.3 4bangin pinto.. easy kill right?

"... Pinto run a string of 10.75s at 118 mph "
10's? On a 4banger that was designed 20 years ago..
Anyone know of a 3.slo thats running 10's presently? 11's? I think Derreks BEST run was in the High 13's ( and his bottom end went all over the place ) .

I really don't know why most people on this site bash the turbo lima. I've heard the svo is better because of the cam or somethin' like that..but couldn't tell u for sure. For the swap you'll need to swap the motor mounts...dunno if the tranny will work or not but im sure you will atleast have to swap the bellhousing and all that junk. I you want to keep you a/c you'll have to flip the header or get an aftermarket one. You'll alos need all sorts of sensors as well as the wiring harness and ecu from a turbo 2.3 car. Wiring will suk since you have a 95...but you'll have a turbo ranger :D

Anyways, 95 is a good year to do a 302/5.0 swap. V8 > turbo 4cyl!

could you do us a favor and make a signature, using the user CP function... if you have time. that way we dont have to refer back to this thread to get your specs.
sounds like you have the time, and the money. got any other expenses? when do you get back to Germany?
