1990 Ranger 2.3l 5spd automatic engine swap??
I am itching to do something with it to make it faster, more hp, something lol I just want to tinker and have loads of projects. That being said i dont know what I should do engine swap, turbo, what cant be done etc.
Any "size" swap will require engine and transmission, also new computer if fuel injection is used
And Ranger engine bay is narrow so you are limited to about 20" width, the Ford 302(5.0L) is 19" which is why it was used in Explorers, it fit
Ford made factory 2.3l SOHC turbos so that's doable, and there are after-market kits
"There is no replacement for displacement", so hard to get past the "just do a V8 swap", and many Rangers have V8s now so loads of info out there on installing and wiring for any year Ranger
