2000 Ranger with Airbag Code 19
I have a 2000 4x4 Ranger standard cab short bed I picked up with a rebuilt title. The truck is very clean and runs great. The only issue I have is the dreaded code 19 on the airbag module. My question is can the RCM be replaced from a "non wrecked" truck without any extra coding (plug and play)? If so, what years might I be able to use in the truck?
If coding is needed would it be better to send the module off to one of the eBay companies that claim to be able to "reset" the crash data in the RCM? Looks like they have a quick turn around and a 100% money back guarantee. Total cost would be about $50 - $60 with shipping.
I am also assuming from what I have been able to find on the forum, I won't be able to tell if I have other circuit issues until I can get rid of the code 19 "crash data full". Is this correct as well??

Welcome to the forum
Usually you can replace the RCM as plug and play...............usually, but yes, it depends on how well previous owner restored the SRS system
Once code 19 is gone there may be other codes
