2011 Ranger Horn sucks
my 2011 Ranger horn sucks in that it is wimpy.
My new beetle horn is more effective than the Ranger.
What is the decibel rating for a factory Ranger horn?
The maximum decibel range is 118 I believe; what would be an acceptable level? I don't need a locomotive level LOL.
What is the polarity of the Ranger's horn?
Can I put a Cadillac horn on the Ranger?

You can mount any horn onto the Ranger that you can find.
The horn will be located either between the header panel (where grille and lights are) and the core support where the header panel bolts onto, or one under the battery tray. There's one spade connector (+12) that connects to the horn(s) and it grounds out through it's mounting.
As long as the horns your replacing have +12 in and ground (provided they fit somewhere) they'll work. I have two sets of dual f150 horns on mine, four in total. Loud! Since I have four horns, I used a relay, but if you just want a dual note horn like F150s, Explorers and some Rangers come stock with you shouldn't need any extra wiring.
