'94 wiper motor park switch location

My '04 ranger wiper won't park. Low and hi speed work OK, and when in intermittent, the wipers start for a sec, then pause in the middle of the stroke, then periodically advance a bit,

I think it is due to the park switch in the motor or maybe the wiring to it may be bad.

Problem is, I cannot locate the actual switch.

The motor has 4 wires leading to a circular connector. According to the schematic, one is +12 to the park sw. another is switched 12 from the sw. and the two others are lo and hi speed. Ground is not in the connector.

I have a motor from my '03 and removed the cover over the gears, and I see the worm drive from the motor, and a couple of step down gears, but cannot locate the actual park switch. It must be somewhere near the lowest (final) gear but no wires go near that area of the casting.

Any ideas where I might locate the switch so I can test it?

Thanks, Mark

'04 or 1994?

2004 will have a Run/Park relay in engine fuse box

1994 will have a run/park relay, my bet would be its in the engine fuse box as well, should be a diagram under fuse box cover

Thanks RonD:

I will look for that.

I have the schematic, the 3 major components are the motor, switch, and a brain. I see no relay but I will look.

Even with a relay, there must be a way for the relay to tell that the wiper has reached a specific position, and that must be some kind of switch on the motor assy.

I include a pix of the schematic (my first time attaching I hope it works.)

Good diagram, one I found was different

interval governor has the relay inside, this unit should be under the dash close to firewall above gas pedal area kinda behind ashtray, you can get to it without pulling front of dash apart.

But there is also a Park switch in the wiper motor
