Best Sound improvement on a budget

Hey all,
im looking to get a little bit of depth to my exhaust without dropping much into it. I love my ranger and it’s my daily while I save for a newer truck, I’ll keep it till it drops dead on me but it’s not necessarily a project vehicle. Right now I’d like to just get a little bit of a louder sound out of it, nothing goofy.

what’s the best recommendations for this? Full system or would just a couple things be enough? I’m looking at a Flowmaster 40 series currently.
gotta 4.0

Honestly the 4.0 sounds shitty compared to the 3.0 with an exhaust. That being said, I am gonna assume you're keeping all the cats. The cats actually do a LOT of muffling on the exhaust as it is. I would suggest you go to Flowmaster 10 series muffler. If you got the extra cheddar to pay for it I would advise you get a single in, dual out Flowmaster 10, and have them pipe up dual exhaust out the back. If you don't care about tailpipe placement just get a single in single out (center offset on both sides) flowmaster 10. If you want side exit (I have side exit), get a single in, dual outlet and have them fab up the bend to point the tailpipes out the side. Look at the side exit on mine. Dual slash cut tips.

My OE muffler rotted out, and I was replacing the front cat y-pipe anyway, so I pulled the whole exhaust and went at it. We don't get smog checks here, so I punched out the rear catalytic( it was already fractured and rattling) and reinstalled it. I cut out the old muffler and clamped in a Thrush welded chambered muffler, same configuration as the OE just chambered design instead of turbo or whatever the OE is, I couldn't tell it was so rotted.

Im super happy with the sound. Nice low rumble at idle, sounds great when you get on the throttle, and definitely not what I would call loud. I can hear it well with the windows down but with them up its quiet, definitely quieter than my stereo at listening volume. I suspect you will get similar results with any chambered muffler, but I got the thrush on back order for $40 so I couldn't pass it up. The hanger is a universal, got it on amazon as well.
