Brake pedal chatter

Hey folks, I'm having an issue with my brakes, (possibly), when I'm coming to a stop, just before stopping I'm getting the pedal chatter like I'm getting an abs activation. Is this possibly the result of a failing bearing hub/ wheel speed sensor? It's a 2002 XLT, 4.0, 4wd.

The ABS light would come on it it was ABS pulsing

You will need to jack it up and take the wheels off and check for loose parts

Yes, check the play on the wheels before removal, but worn hubs tend to make a HUMMMM sound when driving

Worn lower ball joints cause tires to wear in the inside edge, look for that as well

Well the ball joints were all replaced a couple of years ago, as well as the brakes and rotors, not a lot of miles on it since all that. The reason I was looking towards the bearing hubs/ speed sensors was the way it's acting is identical to how my Astro van did and that turned out to be the problem. But, Chevy/Ford, apples and oranges.

Problem solved and repaired. Just as I suspected, bad wheel speed sensor, losing voltage under 4 mph, and activating the ABS.
