FX4 Level II for sale near me, should I?

Ask is $4500, looks to be in good shape but its listed as non-running. I mean, **** at that price I could fix it up and flip it? Don't these usually go for 10K or more?

Depends on the area?

And depends on IF it is a Level II, they were only made for a few years, 2002(as FX4), then 2003-2007, read here: https://www.therangerstation.com/art...-by-the-years/
Level II stickers are cheap, lol

All Level II had Black interiors(Some had red or blue seat inserts) that's the first thing to look for
No Flare sides(step sides)

Not sure about the $10,000 price tag, used trucks sell for what you can get for them, salvaged or rebuilt title are not worth as much, and "I'll send you the title" are worth $0, lol

Level II had a 4.0l SOHC engine, not running could mean a engine swap
Most came with Manual 5-speed which cost maybe $800 used
5R55E automatic could set you back $2,500

If you want a Level II it might be worth it, but try to get it for $3,500, flipping it would require more research on your end, the downside of and engine AND transmission, and ??

Got a message back sounds like engine is toast but comes with a spare engine, or time for a 5.0 swap. It's a 2005, has the blue inlay seats, any other things to look for? But I see normal 2WD Rangers going for 3-9K depending on miles so I figure a nice Level II should be worth it to the right crowd. Hell I've seen rolled ones go for a couple grand.

Any Ranger with a Level II decal from the factory should have the black interior. However, a few of the 2002 "Fx4 Off-Road" trucks (early Level II) were offered with either a tan or a black interior. These early trucks stand out due to the unique "Zebra" print inserts on the seats.

I was not aware the 02 FX4 also came with the tan interior or maybe I just forgot. My early 02 (bought in Dec. 01) had black interior. You are right the 02 FX4 seats were unique with the what I call "cracked ice" inserts. That picture certainly confirms they also came in tan. That must be a very rare interior for the 02 FX4. I have never seen or heard of one until now.

Some people estimate only 10% of the 2002 Fx4 came with a tan interior, and considering these were already low production trucks, and tan was only available for 2002, that's not a huge number. It was hard to even find that picture; I had to sort through about twenty sales listings before I found that one.

I ripped this from the 2002 brochure. I highlighted the parts where it shows that "Medium Prairie Tan" was only available with the Bright Red and Black exterior colors.
