Cash

I dont do vehicle loans anymore, or credit cards. The only thing we owe on is the house.

Ive gotten help from parents on 2 vehicles. My first car 81 Mustang that I bought from mom in 1990, she gave me $100 toward the $1200 that I paid for it. Then when I bought my 95 Ranger my stepdad cosigned for me.

#3 I saved up and paid cash. Not having vehicle payments, house payments, credit card debt, etc. is wonderful!

Get rid of interest payments and debt and you won't believe how much money you have to buy toys with.

Totally agree. i used to drive a 2wd 84 Ranger in the winter..........the handling is absolutely horrible on those older models, I hated driving it any time of the year.

Here's what happened the second winter.....I just couldn't put up with it anymore

By some quirk of nature, the stars aligned just right, and the financing gods decided to lend me the money. I honestly didn't think I'd get the loan, but I did. Don't ask me how, I don't have a clue. So now I have a 2003 Ranger XLT and a reasonable monthly payment. It'll be paid off in about 4.5 years and I'll probably keep it another 4-5 years after that, we'll see.

During that extra 4-5 years after paying it off, keep putting your payment aside each month, use what you have to for repairs but after awhile, especially since you wont be paying interest, go pay cash for your next one

parents bought the truck and pay for insurance but I have to pay for everything else, so if I break it I have to pay for it.

It's a loan for me. I will have it paid by next Xmas or sooner (a year early).

This is what my uncle does. He started way back in the 60s and has done it ever since. (oh yeah, he has no wife and kids and the house was paid for a loooong time ago)
