Oil leak

Hey, I just removed my muffler on my 2003 3.0 ranger. I unblolted it at the mid. I’m now experiencing an oil leak, I’ve never had anything leak from the truck out of the 15 years it’s been in my family. Could it be the rear main seal? Would a muffler removal cause something like this?

Welcome to the forum

No, there is no connection or common parts between exhaust and oiling system in the engine, or transmission.

Rear main seal leak will "pour out" oil while engine is running, it will come out from inside the bell housing
oil pan or valve cover leaks will drip oil
