Oil leak 2007 Ford Ranger

So this Friday I just purchased a 2007 Ranger 4x4, with a 4.0. The truck has 140,000 miles and is a one owner. Since I’ve been inspecting the truck more and more I’ve just noticed what looks like an oil leak between where I believe the transmission bolts up to the motor, just aft of the oil pan. I’ve included a picture. Can anybody tell me exactly what gasket this is and what kinda work would need to be done to replace it? Thanks in advance!

Welcome to the forum

Looks like an automatic, so could be transmissions front seal, would be ATF so reddish oil

Or rear main seal on the engine, engine oil, rear main seals will really pump out the oil when they start to go bad

Either would require pulling back/out the transmission to get to either seal
They are not expensive or hard to change, getting to them is hard
