resetting check engine light?

resetting check engine light?

How do you reset the light? It pulled the codes po171 and po174 and I seen on here its usually that small 90 degree hose and it had a big hole in it so I replaced it now I just need to reset the light

Pull the negative battery cable off for fifteen minutes.

Alright I appreciate it and also when I start my truck after its been sitting a while the idle jumps from like 400 to about 1500 for a few seconds? Any idea on what that is?

That's normal during real cold weather.

Really its never done it before till maybe a month ago usually it would just go up to 1500 and come back down to normal

Make up your mind.
Then go clean the IAC valve.

It revs up and down up and down up and down so on and then idles normal
