1995 ford ranger rke module location
1995 ford ranger rke module location
Hello,
This is probably mention on this forum ... it would take me forever too find it lol
I recently got me nice southern 1995 Ford Ranger with x-liner sprayed from top to bottom and it have power lock switches ... i noticed it didn't come with FOB. I have existing truck that have FOB that i want to swap out. Would anyone know where the rke module located? So i can transfer it? so just plug in the module it's self with receiver antenna and it should work?
Thank you

Swapping modules won't work
But see if you can add existing FOBs to 1995 Ranger, read here: Ford Ranger Car Key Fob and Remote Programming Instructions
1995-1997 Ranger
If you don't get the Door Locks cycling open and locked after the 5th time then you do not have keyless entry.
They call it a RAP module in the rangers and explorers, not RKE module
in 1995-1997 it should be behind drivers side rear trim panel, on extended cab then behind back panel driver side
It's a white plastic box
If you don't have keyless entry in the 1995 then a 3rd party add-on would be easier than adding factory setup

The "key" is not part of keyless entry, or factory alarm, just the Fob is
If you have Ford keyless entry then yes there will be an FCC ID number on the label of RAP module but it is just a license number
As said before IF(big if) you have keyless entry then RAP module will be behind driver seat, behind the panel if you don't see it then you don't have factory keyless entry
Probably easier to add 3rd party keyless entry system than trying to rewire in a Ford system

I've cycled the ign. switch 5 times and the locks pop. A locksmith I contacted says they can supply a fob if I know the FCC ID. I'll be behind the seat at first light (if it's not pouring rain) Thanx for all you do for us site beginners.
You don't need to, here is a picture of a 1995 Ranger RAP Module, FCC ID is on it: https://cimg4.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.ran...c88f7b4c69.jpg
You know its a 1995 because of part number: F5 = 1995
And for a Ranger because 3 digit is 7
So F57 = 1995 Ranger part
