92 ranger died and wont start

Today my 92 ranger 3.0 v6 died while driving and wouldn't start. My fuel gauge doesn't work so I thought I might be out of fuel. I knew I shouldn't be but I went and got some fuel poured into it and it fired up. Went about a mile and it done it again and now it won't start. Now I notice the fuel pump isn't coming on when you turn key. The truck turns over and cranks just won't start. Anything I can check or do before changing the fuel pump?

Confirm your no fuel theory by adding fuel to the intake manually, spray gasoline or Quick Start(ether) into the intake then crank engine

If it starts and then dies, no fuel is confirmed

If it still doesn't start then it is an electrical issue, no spark and no fuel pump

In the passenger side of the cab under glove box is the Inertia switch, fuel pumps 12v power passes thru this switch when key is turned on.
Check Red button on the top of this switch, it should be down, press it to be sure
Put a test light on either wire and ground other lead on test light or meter, turn key on
Light or meter should show 12volts for 2 seconds, each time key is turned from off to on, so repeat as needed

If you get the 12v then Fuel pump fuse and Relay are working, so yes, you will need to replace fuel pump
