Battery light with key off???

Does anybody know what would cause the battery light to be on with the key off? When you start the truck it goes off. I thought it could be the alt but I swapped it out and still does the same thing. This is the truck I added power doors too (and factory wiring-everything works right). It could be a wiring connection that is wrong. I ordered a wiring manual on the 22nd and it still isn't here $%@#$@^

Is there a plug in the wires leading up to the ignition switch at the base of the steering collum ? Unplug it and if the light goes out you need a new key switch.

No key at all. If you put the key in and start it, it goes out

I figured it out after quite a bit of effort. I thought it had something to do with my power door installation but I was wrong. A pin got bent over against another pin on the plug for the engine harness...what a pain...$%@#$
