Belt not working correctly

After flushing my coolant and changing out my thermostat this happened. Never seen it before. The belt tensioner will work a few seconds then stop a little and then repeat.

That looks like your air conditioner clutch doing what it should be doing.

Welcome to the forum

AC compressor pulley/clutch is circled in the pictures

Belt Tensioner should be on the other side of engine bay

Compressor will come on and off if you have selected Defrost in the cab, the AC system is used to DRY the air blowing onto the windshield, for faster Defrost

It will stay on full time if you select AC in the cab, unless your AC system has an issue like low on fluid or bad pressure switch, then it will also cycle on and off
