Draw on Battery

Hello all,
I hope this post is in the correct place, if not, please show me the way.
Anyway, I am needing some technical assistance. I have a 2010 2.3L Ford Ranger and have found that I have a 1A draw on the battery even while off. I found that pulling the fuse for the left low beam headlamp causes the draw to go down to a normal level of 0.1A. After discovering this, I pulled the left headlamp and tested again (after re-installing the fuse of course) and a still have the draw. I tried tracing back the cabling, but as soon as they get under the hood, they get jumbled up with everything else of course and I lose them. The headlamp works fine with the fuse installed, so I don't think I am shorted to ground, but I am not sure. If anyone has any suggestions on how to trace this, please let me know!
Thank you,
Jon

Welcome to the forum

.03-.07A is expect draw after 30min of key off doors closed

Around 2004 Rangers got Smart Junction Box(SJB) this replaced GEM as the Body Computer(BCM)
SJB is in the passenger kick panel, cab fuse panel is part of SJB

SJB should shut off most electrics after 20-30min of key off doors closed, this prevents dead battery from leaving something on.
This used to be done by the Battery Saver relay and GEM, but SJB used microprocessors instead of 1 relay.

Newer OBD scanners/readers can get Body codes, along with engine codes.
So that would be my first thing to do, see if there are any codes from SJB indicating a problem.

Things that are always on are computer and radio memory power, the .03A draw
Then added to that is Keyless entry, must always be on and SJB backup to detect Keyless entry signal and unlock doors.
Perimeter alarms also must have 24/7 power or are useless
And that can get you up to the .07A draw
