expo mirrors

expo mirrors

well i just got done wiring up my ohc and powering my lighted expo mirrors....but the lights dont work. so i pulled one of the light covers and there is one of those fuse looking light bulbs in there. i usr a test light and look for power. other side when i have the light grounded when i touch it the test light lights up. the other side when i touch it the visor lights light up...so its not grounded right...how did u guys ground ur visors? thanks

I had to take a wire to each visor and put a ring terminal on it. Put one of the 3 screws for the visor through it. The screws are the ground for the visor. In the explorer they don't have the plastic things the rangers have for the screws. I took the other side and ran it to where I grounded the OHC.

The hardest part was holding up the visor, getting the screw to go through the ring terminal that was between the headliner and roof of the Ranger and screwing all at the same time.

ya they are a pain in the *** any way...thanks tho ill have to try that.

^^^ thats how i have mine wired i used about a 4 inch long piece of wire. screwed one end into the sheet metal with a small screw and used the screw from the mount and it works perfect

well i did something different..i pulled out one of the plastic inserts and replaced it with this metal clip that i had a box of lying around....it works perfectly.

I want the visor out of the newer expeditions. They have buttons built in for garage door openers and such.

Some Explorer visors have the Homelink built in. OR, you can add the Homelink module to your existing visors by unstitching it, installing the module and then sewing it back up.
