i got a 2000 ranger a couple weeks ago and the 4x4 gem module is toast, i cant find any at the pick and pulls near me but i did find a 2000 explorer same trim level and options almost the same all the way around(except of course that its a explorer) and i threw that into the ranger and 4x4 high started working for about 10 minutes but then it stopped working and my 4x4 lights on my dash started blinking, so i pulled it out just so i didnt break anything, i can buy it off of ebay but i dont know how much i trust that so im trying to exhaust all my other options, will the explorer one work? or will it just break stuff. im fairly new to working on cars so any help would be appreciated

No, the Explorer GEM won't work, it won't have speedometer section as far as I know, 1998-2000 Rangers used GEM for speed signals, Explorers used 4wheel ABS module

1998-2000 Ranger or Mazda B-series GEM should work, from a 4x4 with same power group(trim)
