help me figure this out.

okay so we had the big snowstorm in mn/iowa area

and i go to put my truck into 4x4 high and it doesn't do anything

the light turns on but it doesn't engage. so i'm thinking great i'll need a shift motor.

then i was playing around with it today. and there will be times where it wil grind a tiny bit as its getting into 4x4 like it was just bad timing then it pops in.

so its shifting into it. but its still not in 4x4 high, low doesn't do anything either. the light on the dash comes on like normal relay clicks like normal.

i really don't want to bring this to a mechanic.

i did get new hubs installed little over a month ago but can't remember if i tried 4x4 high after or before and it worked.

When in low does it go into low range? Like is the gear reduction present?

i'm actually not sure. i didn't pull forward to far/fast to notice.

i was reading in threads on here but nothing really helped.

some said it might be the hubs. but just got those installed at a local shop.

try tapping the motor with a hammer while someone else flips the switch to 4wd.. sometimes the motors get stuck.
