Lighting Bugs
Hello All!
Just picked up a 1994 2.3 4x2 Ranger. I have some lighting issues I haven't encountered before and would like to know where to start. I'll list the goofy bits below:
-Brake lights work only when lights are on
-Hazard button doesn't turn anything on
-Back up lights on cab don't work
-Light pull **** very picky (Only turns on if pulled out part way not fully)
Any help is appreciated!

Welcome to the forum
Replace main light switch, that should also fix "cargo lights"' those are the white lights on the top rear of cab, they are activated by turning the Main light switch **** all the way clockwise, you will feel it "click", dome light and cargo lights should both come on
Backup lights are only in the tail light lens, none on cab
Check fuses 4 and 10 in cab fuse box
4 is 4-way flasher
10 is brake lights
If 4 is OK then replace the 4-way Flasher, its on THE BACK SIDE of the cab fuse box, you can feel it if you reach around, its the same model of flasher as the turn signal flasher on the front of fuse panel
So you can swap them first to make sure the 4-way flasher is the issue, assuming turn signals work, lol

This helped tremendously! The majority of the issue was a blown fuse. I happened to have a spare. Once replaced the lights as a whole worked perfectly. Its like it helps to have things the way they are supposed to be haha. Thanks again.
