Mass Airflow Sensor FUN

I have a 1998 Ranger XLT with a 2.5L 5 speed manual. I have a minor stumbling idle and a terrible gas smell from the exhaust, along with a mass airflow code. Im aware the engine is running stupid rich. The code says that the MAF is reading high. I have replaced the sensor with 2 new ones, one from autozone and the current one from napa. I changed the spark plugs yesterday and all eight of them were COVERED in carbon from the engine dumping fuel. I know the maf works and that the 4 cylinder Rangers are incredibly sensitive to the maf sensors that are used... I'm hoping to find an OEM maf, but that very unlikely. Any ideas?
