Overhead Console
Good Evening
I asked this in response to another thread in the Interior Forum, but it is an electrical question so I'll ask it here also.
How difficult is it to retro-fit an overhead console from a 1995 Explorer XLT to a 2011 Ranger? What is entailed to male the compass/thermometer work properly?
Thanks to all who respond.

It's actually pretty easy, along with the Auto Dim Mirror, Auto Headlights, Dual Lighted Visors.
The compass just needs power, and thermometer just needs 2 wires ran the the temp sensor.

Just make sure you get the overhead console from one with out a sunroof.

Good Evening All
I hope that everyone had an enjoyable holiday.
Just an update on the overhead console. I acquired one form a '95 Explorer, along with the dual lighted sun visors $40 for all.. Once I got it home and cleaned it up I discovered that the circuit board was fried. There are repair services for '97 and up but none for a '95. So the search was on again. E Bay was sourced and a '97 was obtained. It arrived (2 days from Florida) and it was perfect.
In the mean time I wired in the harness which proved tom be challenging as I prefer to solder and shrink tube all the connections. After much measuring and procrastination, I removed the head liner to install the mounting bracket. Once the bracket was installed, enlarging the hole for the headliner was a lot trial and error. Fortunately, it all worked out well.
Once installed I calibrated the compass and it has worked flawlessly.
Thanks to all for all the advice and encouragement.
