A couple days ago my left blinker started flashing really fast and then i noticed that when i push the brake the left brake light doesnt work but the driving brake still work. please help!!!

 

You have a bad bulb in the left rear, its a double filament and one of them is not working. Replace the bulb for the left rear tail lamp/brake lamp.

 

thats usually sign you blew a fuse.

or a bulb is out sometimes...

which sounds like your case...

and the light still lights up, just not when i push the brake.

 

its not the fuse.

Its a burnt out bulb...or about to burn out.

 

The bulb is shorting out in the left rear taillight, replace that first. I would check that before checking any fuses.

The reason the bulb starts flashing rapidly is a safety feature for you. Imagine you're driving down a twisty curvy road at midnight in the black woods forest. You're jus drivin along and your lights burn out! Crash! you're dead cause you went off the road. Instead the lights flash, and you know that you need to get em fixed soon. I find it hilarious to see cars goin down the road flashin.

I know this is a unrelated thing, but I'll put it in this topic for posterity's sake.. everyone couple months I'll be driving along and the one of the blinkers will start flashing hyperspeed out of nowhere. The first time it happened was after a huge bump but now it only gets tripped like once in 3-4 months and it's out of the blue. The fix was just to turn the emergency flashers on and off and everything reset itself and worked fine again. The lights all work (both filiments) and fuses are all good. I guess the blinker module is just chicky or something.. but if anyone finds themselves in a similar situation, just hit the emergency flashers..

 

Just an additional note.. A bad ground at the light can cause this too. My beater has that problem every once in a while. But it is probably the bulb, as previously mentioned.

Also, lamps can have "intermittent" filaments, which make the problem come and go, or corrosion in the socket can cause it to be intermittent as well (in addition to what's already been said here). I had that very problem in mine, and a new bulb did solve it.

Definitely start by replacing the rear bulb on that side. Doing that will eliminate the several possible problems IN the bulb, and "wipe" the socket a bit when the new one is installed.
