PLEASE HELP....OHC ??'s

So today I hooked up my OHC. It is a non sun roof one.. The Install went great. But the wiering is another story.. I went off of MR.Griggs Write up but ran into a few problems..Some of the wire color is not the same.. For example..Mr.Griggs says, Yellow/ Grey .. my wire is Grey/yellow.. I did the best to guess the hook up.. I got it done and the console works But my ranger...Well Lets see.... My 4x4 stopted working ( The 4h and 4L blinks, The swith will not work.) My dome light Will not Light and the Windows will not roll down. What the heck...I did not cut any of the wires in the truck . I used the squez on Splice type. If needed I can put pictures up tommarow. But, I "Was" going on a 4x4 trip with my Uncle and his Jeep Wrangler. I need To fix This problem so I can show him up ! PLEASE TRY TO GIVE ME SOME ADVICE.I am not yelling... I am just a bit worried for my truck. O-My truck is a 99 XLT if that helps.

ok man, the main thing i am thinking for the problem is the GEM wire that you tapped into. you might have spliced into the wrong wire. grey/yellow is really the same thing as yellow/grey so dont worry about it. my wire that was supposed to be red/blue was actually red/black but it works great.

the dome light could be a simply fix make sure that the screws went thru the wiring connectors and when u were screwing it back in it could have shifted the connector. one of my black connectors broke of the wire in the domelight but it still works perfect

if you get me pics ill help you out even more. i am really good at car wiring

All that stuff is on fuse 26. Better look there first...

You are correct about the console power wire. It should be identified in the How-to as gray/yellow.

BTW, gray/yellow is definitely not the same as yellow/gray. The first is the main wire color and the second is the stripe.

Here's another idea.

Sometimes, the GEM will go to never-never land if its connectors are unplugged/replugged with the ignition switch on. I would try to reinitialize it by turning the ignition switch off, disconnecting the battery ground cable and reconnecting it a few minutes later. This worked on my truck once when a group of GEM-related functions went down.

,,About an hour later..ok Now I feel kinda dumb...As I was checking all the fuses I unpluged them to look they pluged them back in . Fuse 23 was blown, I put in a new one..still nothing, But then when I re-checked the fues pannel I have fuse 26 in 27's slot..27 was a blank. I moved the fues back over to #26's spot and what would you know the windows roll down..So ... Now to try to hook the console back up.. Here come the pictures give me a minnute to up load them.

just curious, did you unhook your battery during installation?

on on mine the yellow/grey was the only wire with yellow and grey on it, hence it should be the same in THIS situation only. sorry for the confusion
