Replacing clock spring, add cruise control and or radio controls?
So I gotta replace my clock spring and I thought maybe while I was at it could I add those other things easily or too hard? I have the cruise control module under the hood with the recall wiring on it even though my truck isn't equipped with cruise? Can I at least add radio control buttons if I find the right steering wheel easily? Thanks.
Oh and I need a new radio cus my stock one kicked the bucket so thats getting changed too anyway.

Sure don't know why not
You will need a Radio that can interface with steering wheel controls so what ever vehicle you get steering wheel from get the radio and as much of the wiring harness as you can
The cruise is not an issue, that's stock buttons and clock spring
Not sure on the clock spring for the radio I would imagine it only needs 1 maybe 2 wires
Most button controls on steering wheels use resistance to Ground as the control
i.e. 100ohms = Vol+
150ohms = Vol -
200ohms = Tuner +
250ohms = tuner -
ECT..............
So there is 1 ground wire which is already there for horn or cruise
And then just 1 wire for radio control, maybe 2
Thats how cruise works
And thats why you need factory radio that can understand the buttons
2002 ranger cruise wiring below
Cruise uses 2 wires in this example, plus the common ground use by horn and back lights
