Subject: Engine swap 3.0 to 4.0 problems
I’ve recently started a project swapping out my 2001 Rangers 3.0 with a 2000 Ford Explorer 4.0 sohc.Ive run into a problem with one of my wiring harness connectors. The connector is the first one off my fuse box. Both connectors ends are female. The one from my truck has 6 points and the one from the engine has 8. Any ideas on how to make this work?

This will be too specific a question to answer
For this project you need to get an EVTM(electric vacuum troubleshooting) manual for a 2001 Ranger and an EVTM for a 2000 Explorer
EVTM's came from Ford and were part of the Shop Manual set sent out every year to all Ford shops for every model Ford that year
Often found in ebay, EVTM has every wire and every connection noted and located , and will make what you are doing possible
And just a heads up, 1997 to 2004 4.0l SOHC engines need updated timing chains sets and tensioners, or they will fail, also new front and rear main seals
