Gas keeps backing up. Keeps kicking pump handle off.

I know i will have to lift the bed for access. What might be the problem ? Specifically, link the part or picture .

Is the filler hose kinked? Have you tried the move the gas nozzle around when fueling up?

For gas to go in AIR must get out

Picture here of what your Filler should look like: https://cdn11.bigcommerce.com/s-m7zi...918333.jpg?c=2

The smaller tube is the vent
If you take the gas cap off you should see 1 or 2 holes around the edge of the filler pipe, that's where the air comes out
Next time you add gas to the tank see if you can feel the air coming out of the vents

There is a rubber hose that connects the tank to the Vent pipe, and a connection at the top of the tank to a fitting that can have a valve in it, like a float valve when fuel level gets too high

The EVAP system can also come into play
EVAP system sucks gas fumes out of the gas tank when you are driving and the gas is sloshing around, generating lots of fumes, lol
It use engine vacuum and sucks the fumes thru a charcoal filter and then into the intake to be burned
And it has a Vent Valve, that should open when engine is off, this allows air to get out when filling the tank as well

I had an older farm truck, chevy, that had this issue but I just carried a rubber hose that I would stick down the filler as a vent, then filler up, lol
