Truck Randomly Died While Driving
2003 3.0l Pulled out of my apartments and the engine just immediately shut off as I pulled onto the road. Dash lights were on and so was radio and headlights but the engine just died. Pulled over turned the key off and back on and it started right up. Drove it around the block and back home. Im afraid to drive it again any suggestions? No new codes came up except for a stored cylinder 4 misfire that I get every now and then (has been going on for 10 months and is not intense).
If lights stayed on then it was most likely fuel related, fuel pump shut off
Could be Fuel pump relay or the fuel pump itself
You can swap relays in engine fuse box, most are the same part number
Fuel pump itself is harder to test until it just dies outright
Longshot would be Cam Sensor, on some 3.0l the Cam sensor can disable fuel injectors if it stops sending a pulse
Start engine and let it idle pull off the Cam sensors 2 wire connector and see if engine stalls, it will set a code and check engine light will come on, thats good.
If engine does stall then thats also good as well, if Cam sensor code was set, because code wasn't set when engine stalled before, so couldn't have been cam sensor issue

Thanks Everyone,
Scanned coses this morning and nothing popped up. Pointing me in your direction of belt rather than crank sensor. After removing the inspection plug and watching while cranked, I did not see any belt movement. Seems like I’ll be changing the belt and hoping this is the final solution.
