Install FX4 Lumbar into non lumbar seat?

Is this possible? Has anyone done it? What parts are needed?

I dunno I'm going to have the covers off, and these seats kill my lower back on long drives.

Well why would anyone pull the lumbar out of a set of seats? I doubt you will ever find the parts separate.

If the years of the seat are similar you should be able to replace the backs as one piece, buckets or 60/40, the backs will interchange.
No need to remove it from the seats of it is all together.
If the lumbar parts are already out, I am thinking it won't be hard to replace just you need all the parts.

Just thinking out loud...
The lumbar rack adjuster
The cable and handle
All mounting hardware.

Yup that's pretty much it. There's also a coupler that connects the **** to the cable. The rack itself is actually held in by tension and a zip tie lol.

always ask the people who have done it.

seat pan, adjuster, cable, and back spring. it clips into a stock seat, and you just replace the seat pan and cut a hole in your cloth.

here you can see the adjuster on the side of the seat.

i bought a faded set of fx4 seats, took it out and sold them for $30 less then i paid for them, so it cost me $30.

On my 03, with bucket seats, both the passenger and the driver seat pans were the same.
In fact you coils switch the backs and tracks and move the seat for side to side.
The seat pans had holes on both sides.

Also, my 60/40 setup that was taken out for the bucket seat, the passenger side was just a standard bucket seat.

you need the seat pan because the dial mounts to it, otherwise you need to weld in a bracket you could try to make.

just thought about it, you also need the black trim around the bottom of the seat.

I was under the impression that the holes in the seat pan were the mounting ponts. didn't notice any additional brackets in my seats.

But it is still doable with ALL of the parts.

To me it looks like the seat pan is the same with or w/o lumbar

I think the only difference in the trim is the small notch for the ****.

Do you think cutting the fabric for the **** will cause it to tear over time?

That's what I thought but not sure if this is an 06.

Mine has a small apron on the lower portion to cover up some of the track, maybe a notch will have to look.

IMHO, over time it probably will.

So maybe when I make the hole I'll pull the cover off and stitch around it for strength.

Anything for reinforcement.

How about a picture ?

Mine had the lumbar on the drivers side when I got the seats so I do not know or remember what the original seat covers looked like.
