install sound deadener/thermal insulation on roof

I'm considering adding sound deadener above my headliner or on the roof of the cab. Also being as hot as its been recently it would be nice to have some thermal insulation qualities as well. Being that my Truck is darker color there is a lot of heat buildup through the course of the day.

Previously I have purchased and installed both Second Skin's Damplifier Pro and Overkill Pro in my doors. It's quite amazing what that did alone not only for sound/noise but a solid feel! It seems like it helped with temps too thus I have been very impressed with Second Skin.

Anyways I'm not sure how much material I would need to do the roof area? I have an ext cab. Would 13sq feet cover it or should i go for 20?

Also I'm considering using Second Skins Heat Wave Pro Heat Wave Pro? - 1 Sheet - 24 sq feet - Second Skin Audio as well above the liner. I'm curious if I would be better off using an MLV based noise barrier such as Luxury liner however?

Also would a second layer of material even fit up there?

I used a whole 100square feet of fat mat's rattle trap in my extended cab. I tripled it on the roof and back wall and double on everything else

Yeah I wish I can remember how much I used on my door. Pretty sure I doubled it up though.

Sounds like I should at least go 20. I'm sort of leaning towards the MLV material as my second(or third layer) up there. I guess the big question is how much room there between the liner and metal roof itself.
