Silver lake discussion thread
lets keep it on topic man. Start up a thread if you wanna chat that over.
Got my new axle cleaned up pretty good. Next is rebuilding the brakes, ordering the spring perch kit, some fresh paint and putting it all together. Its nice to have some progress.

I agree, I'm considering having a mod change the title and move it to the off topic area....
PLEASE KEEP IT RELATED TO SILVER LAKE ITEMS IN THIS THREAD.
I don't wanna be an ******* and have it closed or edited but I will ask a mod to do that if this stuff continues.

Who all plans to drive their truck and who plans to bring a quad?
Thats what I plan on doing. You going to pull a trailer? or get all that stuff in the bed of your truck?
Wait until you see what i'm bringing.

More then likely throw it in the bed. If rob asks me to tow his then I can unless I buy a trailer for two quads I'll definitely have to throw it in the bed to cross the border.
I have a Trailer. That could hold two. (mine and yours) If you wanted to make a run a week or so before. I could tow it.
Provided you bring me some fine Canaiden beer.
I'm just spitballing here. I don't know if i'll be able to put everything i want to bring in the bed of my truck plus a quad.
Im bringing a Chevy....oh wait. I mean, im bringing a quad. I don't know what your bringing, but I know I'm gonna be faster!
I could bring my 4 wheeler. It's nothing special. An 89 (I think) Kawasaki Bayou 250. I have a trailer for it too.
I won't be able to keep up with most of you probably, but it might be nice to have it with me

Beating on your truck gets tough after a day.
side note. I used to have a 250 Bayou. Those things are BAD ***. we rolled ours soo many times, Every which way. I welded the A-Arms on that sucker back together so many times.

He's right, last year was nice going from wed-sun but if all you have is one vehicle it can be a bit much. I was able to borrow quads last year to get a feel and bought mine on those test runs.
Bring it. Worst case you decide not to use it. I won't be racing in mine, I have barely ridden it and wanna get a feel in an open space like SL.

We don't have one in Missouri, my 4 wheeler isn't registered either, is that going to be a big deal?
We don't need anything here either aside registration. Even for a motorcycle license, you don't NEED to take the safety course but it does cut down on your insurance if you take it. I'm still on the fence about bringing (buying) a quad. my mpg will be garbage driving there. Weak *** ranger lol
We have a safety course but I've been driving my 4 wheeler since I could reach the shifter, so about 7 or 8. I've never taken course, or knew we had one.
I just read that Missouri requires ATV's be registered but I've never done it since it's never left the farm

From the MI DNR:
"All ORV operators under 16 years old are required to possess a valid safety training certificate when operating an ORV."
Disregard my other comments.
My buddy is the same way, he has been riding since he was 7, but the DNR doesnt really care about that.

All you need to do is have the MI OHV sticker.
Which. If they give you an issue, just get someone who lives in the state to get you one. Which wouldn't be hard to find.if you know what i mean.

You won't have an issue getting an ORV. The gas stations up there and Walmart sell them also.
We don't need a quad safety course but we do have to have them plated and insured. This was brought up last year. Maly was gonna ride the Polaris to the park from yogi. If your down I'll join you as I have Plates and insurance. AFAIK it's street legal in MI.
