2000 3.0 ignition set
2000 3.0 ignition set
I just replaced cam synchronizer on sons 2000 3.0.,(code 340). Problem- during removal I inadvertantly removed mark locating exact location direction of rotor. Got cam synch shaft installed and engaged with oil pump drive. from pics I took prior to removal new one looks pretty close,(direction).. Almost ready to try and fire it up but was wondering if there is a way to ensure proper orientation-like diagram/picture where it should be when timing mark on harmonic balancer is indicating TDC on pointer.
My thought is that the syncro shaft is engaged correctly on cam drive. Any advice on how to rotate housing that is held by clamp/bolt to back of engine block correctly?

No, only visual aid is a tool that should have come with the new cam synchronizer, read here: https://www.therangerstation.com/tec...-synchronizer/
There was a 3 wire cam sensor used from 1995 thru 1998 on the 3.0ls, in 1999 3.0l got a 2 wire cam sensor, totally different sensors but the setup was the same
It won't hurt anything for it to be out of time but it will set a code
The Crank sensor is the primary timing sensor, Cam sensor is to fine tune sequential injectors
