New guy with first truck - 2019 Ranger
Hello, new member here and wanted to introduce myself. Just picked her up last Saturday right off the dealer delivery truck, a 2019 Lightening Blue Lariat with Fx4 package and all the fixings. I am loving it so far! I've never owned a truck but always wanted one and this fit the bill perfectly. I was cross shopping the Tacoma and Colorado but the Ranger won hands down. I needed a inclement weather vehicle as my other two just don't cut it, even in an inch of snow or heavy rain (Lotus Evora and Lotus Elise). The wife started a new job last winter that requires local travel so she would take our SUV. Of course....leaving me stuck at home when the weather got bad. Now I am set this go around! :D
Anyways, looking forward to learning from folks and having discussions!

Not much history yet for the North American version of the T6 Ranger
But people who have them seem to like them
All the "Test drive" reviews have been good as well
The T6 Ranger has been made over-seas since 2011, they have diesel engine options and manual trans option but basically the same vehicle and they seem to have a good rep
It was first sold as Mazda BT-50, 2006 and up
T6 Ranger info here: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ford_Ranger_(T6)
AKA International Ranger
The over-seas T6(or BT-50) couldn't be imported because of different safety and emission requirements here
The North American Ranger is built at Ford's Michigan Assembly Plant
Its being called the "4th Generation Ranger" by some

Thanks for the welcome and info RonD!
I did quite a bit of research on the truck (and others) beforehand and the test drive sealed the deal for me. Seeing how well the Ranger sold worldwide during it's US hiatus, it's surprising it took Ford so long to bring the Ranger back to the US market. Especially considering the boom of the "smaller" pickup sales over the last few years.

I think Ford needed to upgrade the F-150s before they tried this larger Ranger version, its not the smaller "Ranger" of the 1983-2011 generations, its an "upper-mid size" truck, lol
The cost of a new model needs to be worth it, if Ford is just getting same sales numbers between F-150 and Ranger then they are losing money, i.e. a truck buyer that will buy a Ford in any case whether they buy the Ranger or F-150 doesn't help Ford, it costs them because of the cost of building the Ranger didn't attract new buyer
They need people that are looking at Other brands of trucks coming over and getting a Ranger instead, which will happen, just needs to be in high enough numbers to justify cost of new model

Welcome to the Pickup World !
My first " car" was a '54 F-100 , the second a '72 F-100 . Mixed in over the years : S-10 4x4 , '79 C-10 , '89 D-250 Cummins .
But I've been backburner wanting another 2wd P/U truck ( I DD 4x4 suvs, and have a CJ-7 for a toy, so 4x4 needs covered ) , when the recent '94 Ranger was discovered for me by wife & daughter .
