1995 was 1st year Rangers got the 104-wire EEC-V engine computer, still used today in Fords, OBD2
1995 is in Ranger's 2nd generation, 1993-1997
3rd Gen is 1998-2011 and size wise they are the same, most parts are interchangeable, "most"
You have a 2.3l SOHC Lima engine, very reliable, nick named the "pinto engine" since it was first used in the 1974 Ford Pinto, Fox body Mustangs used the same engine, from 1975 into the 1990's
It uses a timing belt that does need to be changed every 80-100k miles, no engine damage will occur if it breaks while driving
Rangers did use 2.3l DOHC Duratec engine from 2001 to 2011, totally different engine, so heads up on Google searches, using "Ranger and 2.3l"
You have an M5OD-R1(M5R1) manual transmission, very reliable as well, uses ATF, yes automatic transmission fluid in a manual transmission
The Mazda B-Series, was made by Ford so used the same engines and transmission by year, a 1995 Mazda B2300 would be exactly the same as your Ranger, with some differences in appearance
