v10 in a ranger
v10 in a ranger
I just had this crazy idea while eating lunch! Why not put a triton v10 into a ford ranger 4x4. 305 horses and 420 stump pulling foot pounds! Will it work? If I had enough money and fab work yea. It'd definitly need the firewall pushed back and a tranny retrofitted in and definitly a ford 9 inch. Its probably a dream but think of how that thing would sound with a 3 inch true dual exhaust!
One of the work trucks I use at work has that v10 in it and if you ask me it's pathetic. It has no ***** at all, If your going to go through all that work, you might as well throw a powerstroke or a cummins in it, be a hell of a lot easier and you gain a **** load more power.
Wirelessly posted
The triton v10 is huge and its not the greatest at all. I do agree they sound like shi* and get shi* mileage and a ton of work would have to go into it to make it fit. You'd need a D60 cause a 9" will get shredded

It may not be ballsy or get good gas mileage... in a 5 ton vehicle. A ranger is bout half the weight. Although I do agree a powerstroke would be the better option. And I drove a ram srt10 that sounded amazing! And again that's more a performance motor than a hauling motor
No no no. V10 is a V10 is a V10. All are created equal. Just like V8s, V6s, and I4s.
It's a challenge getting things through your thick skull lol

Lol yea your right. I dream more than anything. Either way, im not touching my 2011s engine bay for 60,000 miles uness its a cold air intake or something simple. These are "ooo thatd be cool" plans for if someday I buy a oldie with a blown engine.
thats a dumb statement. ls series engines make lots of power and have a great aftermarket. who cares who made the engine or the body, if it goes fast and looks good i could not give less of a ****.
between my dad and myself i cant list how many chevys have been in the family. camaros, corvettes, trailblazer, s10, silverados, 4500, 2500, cavalier, cobalt, blah blah. no issues. sure some luck might've been involved, but really just saying one manufacturer makes cars that break down is retarded. the ls engines are great engines, doesnt sound like you've had any in the stellar line-up of gm vehicles that have been in the family, your loss i guess.
i'm no chevy fanboy obviously, driving a ford, and its dumb, similar to political parties, to just pick a side and say the other is all bad. really, be realistic for a second. at least as realistic as you can be in a thread about a v10 for a ranger...

I just had this crazy idea while eating my first born! Why not put a 5 and a quarter CAT diesel into a ford ranger 4x4. Will it work? If I had enough money and fab work yea. It'd definitly need the firewall pushed back and a 13 speed tranny retrofitted in . Its probably a dream but think of how that thing would sound with a 8 inch true dual exhaust!
There , fixed the OP's misguided ideology .
you cant say one brand of vehicle is junk because you replace your broken parts with the cheapest ones made and then they break. if you want to go by your logic my buddies ranger was junk because his smyths alternators went out 6 months
