So are you still getting head work done? I know its taking forever but that is the one thing that makes the biggest difference. (at least in the quad world)

I don't see a reason to have a good engine if it can't flow

thats why i am running navigator DOHC heads. they already flow extremely well. No major head work is being done. Shouldnt need it.

did you put a new duff mark in the passenger side door or is that just a shadow / dust mark?

ps... i still owe you a measurement.

Chris, i think that is just your eyes! haha no i bumped into a tree at the badlands and dented the door.

Send a PM when you get that measurement. Mine is 14' from tire to tire. (outside to outside) im hoping to put yours in the front and let mine hang off the back since yours is a lot shorter.

they are getting ported and polished, a very nice 3 angle valve job, shaved .015, some combustion chamber work, and a couple other little tricks.... thats pretty serious head work if you ask me!

Cool stuff, that thing is going to be a beast when it is "done".

I'm interested to hear how you feel about the 4.56 gears in the F150 after your drive home. I need to stop buying junk and order gears.

Never heard of them. I don't remember what part of NC you are in. I use USA Machine in Fayetteville, didn't know if you had ever heard of them.

So are you going to do any other mods besides head work?

mods? do u mean build the motor? yes, headwork is 90 percent of your performance, but the bottom end has to support the extra hp...

Well I know that... Have built my own fair share of High Horsepower engines too, But I mean are you changing the cams, bumping compression, bigger valves, etc? I mean, obviously the rods and pistons are not stock, but they look like overkill for an engine that just has a set of ported heads...

as mentioned in the thread it is going to a 11:1 compression ratio. I dont plan to spend 2k on a set of cams for it. Not worth it IMO.

Nick knows more about the details than i do.

But like anything everyone builds them differently based on their own thoughts. I'm leaving this one for Nick to build, I trust he is making the best decisions for what I want.
