heads are in the shop being cleaned and a valve job
the newish block came in
lightning steel crank also came in
order the rods.

beard, not trying to get off topic but could you give me a link to some websites about building a 5.4? my buddy has a 5.4 2v and cant seem to find too many performance parts. it needs to be built to pull some 54 inch military tires...
im not building the motor. NicksterSVT is. I dont know of too many sites that are just flowing with good information. Best idea is to take it to someone that has done it before. That is what i did.

First off I dont want to argue about which engine is better or worse. This is a 5.4L swap. May not be the best wheeler or the best race truck, or the best whatever, lets face it, my truck isnt the best at everything and i am fine with that. What I like is its different, that is what i strive for and that is what i use it for.
I want to drive it to where ever beat the crap out of it and take it home. And do it all over again.
Some people run a 5.0, great! I have no problems with that at all. No need to argue over it, its a great engine, works well in 90% of the applications. I choose not to do it because others have it! Again I strive to be different. Sometimes its better most of the time different is worse. oh well.
Anyway back to the build!

probably, but everything is in the machine shop! nothing we can do but wait. we waited so long because i wasnt sure that I was going to sell all my old stuff, once it sold he took it into the machine shop.
