lul.

i only need to put in like maybe 4 more hours into the head for it to be finished. Then clean it up and assemble it all. Then spend like, $150 on parts and i can bolt everything back together.

Unfortunately, I'm at college right now where i have no time and no place to work on it. So it has to wait...lul.

So when are you gonna add the turbo? When you install the engine or later on down the road??

I'll have this engine built probably this summer...might even drop it into the truck this summer also. idk, it all depends on money. Hopefully, once i graduate, i'll get a killer job so i can do everything else i want to the truck.

Oh, and i mocked up the head, tube header, and turbo on the short block, and my god was it beautifully. the massive turbo hanging up in the air was amazing....

I'll be waiting for progress on this one Grant. I think my next Ranger will probably be a four banger just for this reason. I may copy what you're doing someday in the future..

Keep us updated, don't skimp on giving us the finer details, and take LOTS of pics. lol

no problem GB, i plan to keep this updated as i do more stuff.
Its incredible how much you can get out of these little engines.
there is no doubt in my mind that you can't get an older gen 3, and turbo it, and make a healthy 300+hp, for under $4000 easily. And keep it at 25mpgs on the highway.

This thing is going to kick *** once i get her done. Big valves, huge turbo, it'll be amazing.

Looking at this pic gave me an idea, have you thought about painting your rockers and lower doors below the body line matte black to match the front bumper? Might look really good and be different.

Nah, i don't think that will look good on my truck.
Maybe on a 4wd truck lifted up, but a street truck, no i don't think it'll look good...

I was just trying to think of a way to tie everything in, the matte bumper sticks out like a sore thumb but the rest of the truck looks great, good stance nice and clean.

Old project....I kind of forgot about it.
It just needs a few hours of fiberglass work and metal work to patch up a few areas and it'd be golden.
But i read somewhere that the stepside bed is heavier than the standard bed so i lowered it on my to-do list...

I've awaken from the hiatus to my turbo project, and it lewks like i have an excuse to buy a TIG machine now....figure i can also tig my exhaust and anything else so that'll save me monies....

So here is the crack in the wastegate hole in the turbine housing. I think its bad enough to definitely weld it up before i use it. Or maybe try and get another housing in good condition....

Woah... calmdownbro... it was a joke... lol

Actually the last few times I've seen it it's still been sitting on the motor stand on his workbench waiting for him to be finished with school and have time.
