FRXLT's 2004 Ford Ranger
Went and found 'em for ya.....5/16-18x1. Pic sorta tells it all.....stainless is $1.08ea. black phosfate or whatever(aka will rust over time) is $.079ea. I'll also shoot you a PM too...oh yeah... i should thread these into one of the 8.8's sitting in my shop to see if they thread in! lol.
yeah, I couldn't find any flat head bolts at home depot or anywhere around here so I used oval head bolts, which fit flush but oval out. I like the look of them.
the hex bolts looked crappy and shane those should thread in perfect

Well just got back from autozone. I'm wanting to get this axle done so I picked up 2 new sets of Duralast rotors and Carbon Max Pads, as well as new hoses. Couldn't get hardlines so Im going to reuse the ones I have on the 7.5 and cut flair them to the expo hoses. I picked up a flair kit as well. It's a double flair kit and this is my first time doing brake mods. Did I get the right flair kit or should I have gone with a single flair kit? I wanted to get the Centric rotors but I'm going to wait till next year to get them. I'm going to be gone for three months in jan, so my truck is just going to sit around.
Edit 11/17: Here are some pics of what the axle is at right now. Went and got my mounts welded on today! Very nice guy that helped. He builds and works on Yota's and Rock crawlers and just a general contractor. He was able to get everything welded up in 2 hours and I was able to help a bit. Anyways tomorrow I will clean it paint it and install it!

Jez, I don't know how I missed this thread. I just spent a good 45mins reading this thread. Good build up. Deffiantly liking your truck a lot. Everything is coming out really good. Deffianlty going to be keeping my eye on this thread. Good Luck w/that axle.
Well I just finished painting the axle going to test fit the ruff stuff diff cover. Drained out the old gear oil. I picked up some Lucas Heavy Duty gear oil that is 80w-90. Is that going to be good or do I need the 75w-140? The royal purple is so expensive, and I read that people have used Lucas. It was either Lucas or Royal Purple since they have L/S additive in it already.
Well here's some pics. Got it in last night and ran out of time to finish it. Came home today to mount up the e-brake and adjust the metal brake lines since they are leaking. I'm going to have to get it towed to a brake shop for them to determine if they can flair new lines or need to fab up new ones. The other thing is my passenger side rear is sitting 2 inches lower then my left. I took out the blocks and put on the belltech's. I think the right leaf is going to crap more so I'm going to look into ordering the 6" skyjackers.

They guy I took it too had a good idea of how to get the perches right with out installing the axle onto the truck. A lot of measuring and finding angles on both axles.
ok...OFFICIALLY pissed I didnt go ahead and put the expo brakes on my Level2 axle I installed on thurs...thanks alot Jordan! Looks like i'll be making a rock auto order here very soon...
Why tow it? Plug/Cap the rear line off where it comes down off the frame, and drive it using just fronts. Unless it's cheap to tow for you.

SeaFoam FTMFW!
Sea foamed my truck today! Smokey Pics! Then took it out and drove it at high RPM as said by many members.

BTW I'm going to go driving around some point in time and get some better pics of my truck. Need to order up some 6" Skyjacker Soft rides and some Duff Bars to complete the rear end suspension!

Well a SAS will take care of that problem!
