Yeah I like the look of it. Do you think I should put a few clear coats on it or just leave it the way it is? Could it add protection to the paint?

It would add "protection" too the paint. Its another couple of layers of paint that has to chip off before the color. If you don't want it a shiny clear like a car, Krylon make a sattan clear that basically keeps it that flat looking color.

Modding Bug

Well the modding bug hit me today and I changed a few things around with my truck. I took out the explorer Console and mounted my CB right underneath the AC controls. As well as put in the tray console back in and hid my switch for the reverse lights in the tray. I like it a lot better and was having problems trying to find a way to mount that huge CB in the explorer console and still make it look clean. But I like the LVL II center console or STX Center console and that's what I'm going to keep my eyes open for. All black one as well. I also found some 07+ power mirrors on ebay and won the driver side. The passenger side was in a different listing and wasn't paying attention to the time and lost by 99 cents! I'm kinda pissed cause I now need to find a passenger side one! LoL o well. And I got my Belltech Shackles in today and one more goodie coming in Thursday!

I have a rough estimate on how much I put into my truck, but it's not as much as what others have done. It's a hobby and I have always been fixing up cars and trucks. I work for the federal government. Also in the Marine Reserves. I save my money quite well, but after the axle swap I'm not doing anything major for quite some time! I still haven't taken it out on some fire trails or do any camping as I hoped to. Next summer I plan on it and see how well the truck holds up. Maybe take it to the desert or something! But it's a hobby like everyone else on the forums. I just enjoy it!

My stock diff i painted like 3 years ago. with 'chrome in a can' spray paint. They have a tendency to not hold up well at all....and take freaking FOREVERR to dry. I did like 6 coats chrome, then like 15 coats of glossy clear. Makes a nice shiny silver color. I'd clear it. Still looks good to this day.

06 Chrome Grill On!

LoL I would have to say this is the easiest upgrade to do. Only took me about 5 min to do. I like it a lot. I'm going to get some street scene mesh inserts and paint them a black color. But in the mean time I need to get new calipers, new pads and rotors, parking brake shoes and need to find a parking brake cable for the new axle. Also will need to get the new leaf springs as well.

Im normally not a very big fan of those grills in chrome but that looks really good. You should get some 06+ corners. I just got some for my truck a little bit ago and they look a lot better than the amber corners.

You could get any 06+ bumper...then put the '08 valence on it...I understand its a pretty cheap part, even from ford.

nice!!!

i'm really really diggin' the truck mang!! Now, are you going to be cool and convert your tailgate too??

Thanks! I am most likely going to go with the 03 style valance like what Trent did with his. But an 08 would look pretty cool, I just wouldn't want to have it painted to match. I get **** about rock chips on fresh paint! I don't think I'll stick the Huge Mugo Ford emblem on the back my tailgate. Kind of like it the way it is now. It would also be cool to find some South American one piece headlights but they're hard to get. Anyways you guys have a good one.

A little Update...

Well got done putting on my Gatorback Serpentine Belt. Was a tough one to get on but it was able to go. First belt I got was too big and went back and got one for a 03 3.0.

Anyway I purchased 2 new Brake Caliper's for my Expo Axle. Should be in tomorrow. I only have 2 more items to get. My Leaf Springs and rest of the Brake rotor's and Pads. As well as take it to the welder to get my mounts on. I am almost done with this very big undertaking!
